Blizzard Dota

Blizzard DOTA trailer has just announced in the 2011 Blizzcon. As you may already know, Blizzard has working on its own Dota map on the Starcraft II for quite some time.

I must say that it is quite amazing. The story lies between two Gods in the universe, the Red God and the Blue God (i must say that their names kinda lame -_-). They then kidnap heroes from across the time and universe to fight each other and amuse them.

We will see many heroes from Blizzard on the battle field, such as Queen of Blade and Nova from the Starcraft series, Thrall and Arthas from the Warcraft world, and much more.
                                                      Kerrigan the queen of Blades.
Arthas the Lich King.
So this is my last update for this sem,see you!!!

Toon Shader

Cel shading - aka "toon shading" - is an effect used to make 3D rendering look like cartoon. It was used in many flavours in a few games such as XIII or Zelda Wind Wakers. Here are some sample for it,i think i will try this shader at my extra study. Let me show some sample to show here:

Toon shader is add outline for 3d model looks more interesting. These image really is a 3d artwork, but look like a cartoon, how interesting...

And last thing, some game is use toon shader technology to create, here is a sample:

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition means placing things side-by-side. In art this usually is done with the intention of bringing out a specific quality or creating an effect, particularly when two contrasting or opposing elements are used. The viewer's attention is drawn to the similarities or differences between the elements.
While juxtaposition can be used in terms of formal elements - for example, the use of agressive mark-making in contrast to an area of very controlled shading, or an area of crisp detail against something softly handled, it more often refers to concepts or imagery. An artist might juxtapose a machine-made object or urban environment against organic elements of nature, in order to highlight different qualities in the two. Note that the way this is done can dramatically change the meaning: we might regard the machine-made or human-created as representing safety and order against the uncontrollable strength of nature; or we might see the fragility and beauty of nature against the soul-less uniformity of the urban world, depending on the nature of the subjects or images and the way they are presented.

Juxtaposition seems like such a hard word, doesn't it, but it is a concept quite easily grasped when explained to you using pictures.

Example for some Juxtaposition

S C  A  M  M  P  E  R  R  is a creativity technology developed by Michael Michalko. It is a check list that helps you to think of changes you can make to an existing product to create a new one. It is an extension of his earlier SCAMPER technique. You can use these changes either as direct suggestions or as starting points for lateral thinking.

The acronym SCAMMPERR stands for are:

S - Substitute - components, materials, people.

C - Combine - mix, combine with other assemblies or services, integrate.

A - Adapt - alter, change function, use part of another element.

M - Magnify - Make it enormous, longer, higher, overstated, added features.

M - Modify - increase or reduce in scale, change shape, modify attributes (e.g. color).

P - Put to another use.

E - Eliminate - remove elements, simplify, reduce to core functionality.

R - Rearrange - change the order, interchange components, change the speed or other pattern.

R - Reverse - turn inside out or upside down.

Michael Michalko is a creativity expert who specializes in providing creative-thinking workshops for organizations. He is the author of the highly-acclaimed "Thinkertoys: A Handbook of Business Creativity" and "ThinkPak: A Brainstorming Card Set". His new book, "Cracking Creativity: The Secrets of Creative Geniuses", was published in May 1998.
